I started out writing Haiku & Senryu as a means to capture the most in as few words possible, the learning and practice resulted in a published book. I found the lessons learned in Haiku would later carry into my other poetry being able to convey beautifully and simply with out rambling : ) I write in free verse and neostyle. I like Impact Verse and Short Form and have written Epigrams. I strongly feel it is not in how much is said...but what is said. Now I am rambling : ) Aloha nui loa, Jerry
I love haiku. I find it really challenging to be able to fit vivid imagery in very little words. I still like to write it sometimes. I'm trying to go from written poet to spoken poet. I find it quite difficult to cross over, but slowly but surely I'm getting it.
The vocal performance of Poetry brings the art form to its highest level. To here a poet read his/her poem just as he/she had intended it to read and with all the emotion brought forward is so awesome. Congrats Kateri for your bravery. Myself... I am too shy : )
