I am a stay at home Mom of one teen who is going through the surly stage. I read as much as I can; I'm voracious! I design and make beaded gemstone jewelry and work with polymer clay. I am a writer, unfortunately unpublished as yet except for some online stuff. I like to cook (but not clean). I don't smoke... cigarettes. I'm am a real lightweight drinker. I look forward to visiting Hawaii every chance I get. I also like to go to Disneyland every year, if possible. I'm trying to arrange things so that my husband and I can retire to the Kona area. We're visiting again this August

Mea maka'ika'i 5 times, planning to move to the Big Island in the next 5 years. I have a great love for the culture of Hawaii, the myths and the history. I have been taking hula lessons since 2002 and my husband plays the ukulele in the halau band. Hawaii feels like home to me and I feel a great affinity with the land and people. I support the sovereignty movement and donate to that and coral reef preservation. I love to snorkel as often as I can and visit my fishie buddies.

Favorite Restaurants
There's a small sushi shack in the center where Longs and Sack & Save are on Palani St. (forgot the name). The taco shack across the way is great, too. Cassandra's is wonderful. The Chinese Buffet at Ocean Seafood at the King K Center. The Kona Ranch House, Huggo's on the Rocks. And, believe it or not Bubba Gump's. All of these on the Big Island. We have a ritual when we first arrive, which is on Monday afternoons. After the whole day traveling, up at 4:00 our time, we don't feel like cooking or going out so we pick up burgers at Wendy's. I know... but watching the sunset while our order gets filled is a great way to cap a hectic day. We take it back to the condo and eat on the lanai as the evening rain falls and we know we're in Kona. It's then we truly feel like our vacation has started.

SNORKELING! Attending local performances by local artists. Strolling along Ali'i Drive. Exploring the historic sites. Visiting Pele at Kiluea. Dancing on the beach. Discovering new places. Yeah, ok... shopping :)
