About foodiejo
Other Job
Restaurant specialist and food columnist for MidWeek and the Honolulu Star-Bulletin
Affiliation to Hawaii
Came for vacation - fell in love with the food culture (and, just as I was thinking of going home, my husband) - and never left. Born and raise in Scotland, I moved to Hawaii in 1992 and discovered the food and wine scene. I started a magazine that appealed to people who wanted to live life with Gusto, and since then have been writing about fine, wine, restaurants and life in Hawaii. I became known as the "voice of tailgating" sometime in the late 90's, after hosting "The Tailgate Show" (a pre-game show before UH games) and I've been involved with tailgating, chefs, outdoor grilling, etc. ever since!
